Patrolman Barnett and Nicholson were both shot and killed after responding to a domestic disturbance on Easter Sunday. Both of these patrolmen struggled with the two suspects before being shot and killed in the line of duty.

In 1966, Officer DeBerry was injured in a motorcycle accident when he attempted to overtake a speeding vehicle. The accident left Officer DeBerry paralyzed and he later succumbed to his inuries.

On July 5, 1980, Officer Cushman was injured after a vehicle pursuit and gun battle with a fleeing suspect. Officer Cushman later succumbed to the injuries sustained during the incident. 

Officer Crispin was shot on December 18, 2011, while making contact with suspicious individuals in Crystal Grove Park. He succumbed to the injuries a few days later. 

On December 4, 2019, while on duty, Officer Foley was found unresponsive in his patrol vehicle. It was later determined that he suffered a fatal medical episode. 

On January 9, 2020, Officer Dunn was killed in an on-duty traffic crash while driving his police motorcycle. Officer Dunn had 20 years of combined law enforcement service.
